A healthcare paradox has been emerging — while life expectancy is increasing in the U.S., people are not necessarily staying healthier as they age. But how medicine is practiced is on the verge of transformation because in the not-so-distant future, patients will be able to have their entire genome sequenced for the cost of a simple blood test.
